The Yan
Originally a sheep farm, The Yan boasts seasonal menus that combine wholesome Cumbrian and British classics with more modern dishes. Its cosy, alpine-inspired interiors make it a perfect spot for relaxed dining. Plus, it's dog friendly - ideal for a well-earned meal after a day exploring.
Henrock
With a breathtaking location at Linthwaite House overlooking Windermere, Henrock offers a refined dining experience with a creative edge. Under the direction of Simon Rogan of L'Enclume, the restaurant imaginative dishes that fuse local Lake District produce with international influences. Choose between an eight-course tasting menu or a three-course set menu, available Wednesday to Sunday, as well as a two-course Sunday lunch.
The Schelly
Named after a rare fish found only in the region's lakes and rivers, The Schelly is all about 'fine dining without the faff'. Expect innovative small plates and wines sourced from small-scale producers, all within an intimate setting accommodating just 30 diners.
Rothay Manor
Rothay Manor holds three AA rosettes for its culinary excellence and a Michelin Plate. Its modern British menu is inspired by the surrounding landscape, while the elegant interiors reflect the heritage of the country manor. For those with furry companions, the Brathay Room is dog friendly.
Gilpin Spice
Ideal for special occasions, Gilpin Spice is the more laid-back option to Gilpin's Michelin-starred Source. This distinctive restaurant serves pan-Asian cuisine designed for sharing, with a continued emphasis on local ingredients. Opt for the kitchen counter seats for an up-close view of the chefs in action in the open kitchen.
