Our Lake District Cottage Locations

Thanks to our unique location there is so much to see and do when you're staying in one of our Windermere or Ullswater Cottages.

Windermere and Bowness are within walking distance of all our Windermere Cottages and offer a wonderful range of cafés, bars, restaurants, boutique shops, supermarkets and popular local attractions.

England’s largest lake, Lake Windermere, is within easy reach of our Matson Ground Windermere Cottages and offers a variety of activities such as steamer trips, boat hire, paddle boarding and sailing. Alternatively, you can enjoy the shoreline with pretty walks such as Cockshott Point, Miller Ground or Brockhole.

Our Windermere Cottages have numerous public paths which weave their way around or through the Estate, including the Dales Way which runs all the way to Ilkley in West Yorkshire. Take a short diversion from the Dales Way to the summit of Brant Fell and enjoy the stunning views of Lake Windermere and the Lake District fells beyond.

If you’re a keen walker, our Ullswater Cottages are perfect. Situated on the Coast to Coast path, there are some simply stunning routes in and around the Grisedale valley for all walking abilities. What’s more, Helvellyn, St Sunday Crag and Grisedale Tarn are all within easy reach of Elm How and Cruck Barn.

Eagle Cottage is situated in the pretty village of Glenridding. Meaning ‘glen overgrown with bracken’, Glenridding is on the southern tip of Ullswater and boasts a number of nearby attractions, including Aira Force, Glencoyne Bay and steamer trips on Ullswater. Once the centre of a lead mining industry, Glenridding is a popular destination for walkers and tourists.
